Ten Fire engines and 70 firefighters tackling big fire at block of flats in north London

An enormous emergency service response was underway after a block of flats caught hearth in north London final evening.

Ten hearth engines and 70 firefighters have been despatched to the scene of the blaze in Wooden Inexperienced as video confirmed flames ripping by means of the constructing.

The hearth was situated inside a 4 storey constructing of maisonettes and the entire second and third ground have been alight alongside a part of the roof.

Round 20 individuals have been evacuated by hearth crews, three of which have been handled by London Ambulance Service on the scene.

One resident tweeted the following image from the scene with the caption: 'Heroes, thank you for your brave service'

One resident tweeted the next picture from the scene with the caption: ‘Heroes, thanks to your courageous service’

One horrified resident mentioned on Twitter: ‘When you’ve got relations residing within the block of flats between Acacia Street and Winkfield Street in WoodGreen, please attain out to them. Fireplace spreading quickly.’

One other mentioned: ‘Loopy hearth outdoors the again of my home in Wooden Inexperienced. Thank God everyone seems to be secure and everybody evacuated.’

London Fireplace Brigade was known as to the scene at round 10pm. The hearth was underneath management by midnight.

Fireplace crews from Tottenham, Hornsey, Edmonton, Holloway, Stoke Newington and Southgate hearth stations have been on the scene.

The Fireplace Brigades Union tweeted: ‘Hoping everyone seems to be secure within the hearth at Wooden Inexperienced tonight. Solidarity to the good firefighters on the scene responding.’

An investigation into the reason for the fireplace is now underway.
